If not mistaken (and we all are at one time or another), Jones and Laughlin
Steel (later LTV) operated the only steel mills actually located in the City of
Pittsburgh. Bethlehem had a small operation in Rankin. US Steel was everywhere
but Pittsburgh (Homestead, Duquesne, West Mifflin, Clairton,Ambridge, ad
infinitum). J&L also had operations in Alliquippa (Woodlawn) and Beaver Falls.
Wheeling-Pittsburgh was big in Allenport and Monessen. Allegheny Ludlum had
several mills, one in Tarentum.
