Descending/ascending numbers are probably not that common.  TTC had 4321 and
subway car 5432, variety of buses (ugh!) and ascending 4567, trailer 2345.
If you want to get into that bit of fluff with cars numbered only evenly we
had Witt 2468 (no cheering allowed), PCC 4268.  Then there's the single
digit oddities like PRC 1111 (thus tying all this in, Derrick), Muni the
same ( a sop to Jim), TTC PCC 4444 and subway car 5555, Boston 3333, Philly
PCC 2222 (however briefly) and Nearside 6666 and a myriad of others.  Who
knows of a rail-bound electric 7777, 8888 and 9999 (actually the Belgian
Vicinal may have had that one).

Enough twaddle.  Time to go and have the first of many turkey sandwiches.
