 Good Morning!

The following information is on the flyer posted by Bob Rathke
at: http://trolley.dementia.org/brathke/NMRA58trip.TIF[1]. For some
reason, I had to download and view it thru a Kodak.exe program within the
Windows OS.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Through the cooperation of Pittsburgh Railways Company and the
Pittsburgh Electric Railways Club, Inc., we bring you this unusual Trolley
Trip. Eleven cars, all different, follow this route: -- --"

[A hand-drawn map then shows the following:]

[Golden Triangle, location of hotel on Grant Street, trolleycars
proceed outbound on Grant to cross Smithfield St. Bridge and head up through
the trolley tunnel, then loop the 40--line, then through South Hills
Junctionto Warrington Avenue and inbound on the 49-line and presumably back
to the hotel via Smithfield, 7th, Grant. The text then continues.........]

"One of each type PCC (Presidents Conference Committee) car
presently in operation by Pittsburgh Railways Company is represented:
seriesnumbered 1000, 1100, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700, and the 1600
interurban, the first series going into ser-vice in 1936, and the last, in
1948."

"The old style cars are M452, usually assigned to work service,
and #3487 and 4398. The latter two are owned by the Arden Trolley Museum
(PERC) and are being stored by the Railways Company until they can be moved
to the Museum trackage."
"M-452 --- formerly of the 4100 series passenger cars, dates from 1911,
and was in regular service until 1936, when it was converted for
snow-scraping and towing service."
"3487 --- formerly owned and operated by Pittsburgh Railways Company,
dates from 1905, when this series of car went into service on many routes.
Built by St. Louis Car Company, it was last used in regular passenger
servicein 1931, when it also became a service car, for overhead line, and
snowplowing duties."
"4398 --- also built by St. Louis Car Company and formerly owned and
operated in passenger service by the Railways Company as part of an order of
50 cars delivered in 1916. Between 1920 and 1930, these cars were rebuilt
for one-man service, and shortly before World War II, were redesigned
electrically for high speed operation." "N.M.R.A CONVENTION COMMITTEE"
"PITTSBURGH -- 1958"

Perhaps our knowledgeable Webmaster might suggest that format. I believe
there are alternatives, (of which I'm unsure.)

did the first time and decided I wasn't into fantrip fliers. I can see
it downloading but there is a LOT OF FILE there.
