Since everyone has had a thoroughly wonderful week complaining about and
lamenting things that they can't possibly change, how about some good news
(albeit not exactly on an epic scale)?

My daughter this week acquired an apartment in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  She
located there because of the short distance to Shady Grove Metro station,
where she will deliberately ride public transit to and from graduate classes
at GWU, and also to/from the job she will have to obtain to pay for said
apartment.

Having seen how well transit works in places like London and Washington (not
to mention the railways in Britain), she thinks you have to be crazy to
drive.

Score one more for transit.
