I agree, Ed. Glad to know some U.S. copies are available. Please post the contact
information or send me a private e-mail. I hope they still have copies of the London
trolley bus videos. Carl sold out his supply several years ago.
This may be a stretch, but this can be relevant to Pitstburgh traction history
because some of the surviving European systems are the only ones that can give at
least a taste of Pittsburgh Railways' tight clearances and meandering routes. The
Blue Trams winding through narrow city streets then hitting relatively open country
sure seems like Shannon-Drake and Shannon-Library to me. According to my videos,
though, the Blue Tram system was gone by 1961 or so. Ed and Fred have indicated
there are other systems still "over there" that offer some Pittsburgh-like
characteristics.
These are great introductions to European style traction. The clearances in some of
the city scenes will make 21-Fineview look like L.A.'s Pico Boulevard! :-)
My concern is what to do when no new tapes are, or will be, available. This is
comparable to the copy negative issue we've discussed in the past.
