I was one of those operators who put up that sign when returning to SHJct 
from downtown. It was always amusing to watch the people on the sidewalks of 
Smithfield Street look and the car and sign and smile and laugh. The car also 
had 98-GLASSPORT and 56-McKEESPORT 2ND AV in addition to the Gotham City and 
the  38, 42,  and 43 routes. If you were using the car on 42/38 it would have 
to be signed 38-MT LEBANON as there was no 42/38 sign. It was one on those 
"interesting" cars to operate.
