Hi guys-
Thought you might enjoy an old story, from when I was a teenager in
Pittsburgh, about 1960. I was dating this girl (yeah, we were going steady,
she wearing my ring on a chain and the whole thing). I decided to take her
to the top of Mt. Washington for the view. I hadn't been driving long, and
we took my Dad's new car--a 1960 Chevy. Now this Chevy was unusually ugly,
and unusually wide. I parked at the top of the hill, and we walked over to
the railing for the view. We had been there for a while, and were engrossed
in conversation (or something) when I became aware of this trolley bell
ringing insistently. Well, of course the PCC couldn't get by the wide Chevy.
I walked over to move it, and discovered I had locked the keys in the car!
It was kind of embarrassing to have to break into Dad's new car while all the
passengers, as well as my girl friend, watched! Remember it like it was
yesterday.
Joe
