The Red Line (Heavy Rail) was bankrupting the SCRTD and any further 
extensions were stopped several years ago. The Blue and Green Lines (light 
rail), however, did see new construction and are well used. The Red Line 
fiasco was do to tremendous cost overruns and caused the downfall of several 
high management people at SCRTD. I could hunt one of my old New Electric 
Railway Journals which has the whole story if there is any interest. Email me
