I believe roof lights were installed at the same time as the mod paint
schemes. It used to be a dead giveaway whether a car was an interurban or not
just by looking for the roof light(providing one could not see the car # ).
Some cars, however, did not recieve their mod schemes until as late as 1982.
Most of these were the gray#2 paint. I imagine all cars, including the gray
#2 cars, were equiped with a roof headlight sometime between 1972 and 1975.
I'm not sure of this though. Anyone else?
