This last statement is belied by Jim Holland's quote from ELECTRIC RAILROADS.

It's worth observing that while several folk got embroiled in a discussion 
about URLs, and while I was content to toss off a couple of paragraphs from the 
top of my head, Perfesser Holland took the time to dig out that ERA article - 
which he probably can recite nearly verbatim anyway - and posted the actual 
facts.

While I can understand people's annoyance occasionally at the Perfesser's 
dogged attention to minutiae, and while I myself find some of his posts to be 
of little interest, he is one of a handful of contributors who have made this 
group an amazing source of information. Plus, as he protests, he goes to 
considerable effort to compose his posts and to trim away the fat.
