Definitely recognized that this Is and Was Not a personal
attack. That being said...........
We can go off the deep end reminding ourselves that everything
in print is Not Factual ---- and that mistakes are made
everywhere ---- 1)--In Print; 2)--In Audio Reports;
3)--In Visual Reports. If we do that with each and every post,
we will so depress ourselves that we shall self--destruct.
*-*Check the archives again*-* ---- within the last month
or two, this Similar Subject came up. I had quoted and
identified the article, was called on the carpet that this is
just a RAILFAN group, and I went back to quote the authors
themselves of the article to add veracity to the
*Written--Word!* A highly-respected individual then wrote to
me privately to express Thanks for pointing out this very needed
reminder of highly reliable sources ---- and informed me
that he had also privately chastised the one who had called the
*Written--Word!* into question.
So again, in a similar context, *Electric--Railroads* #20,
July-1952, 'Pittsburgh--Interurbans' was written by the highly
esteemed John Baxter, L--O--N--G time employee of PRCo, a
founding father of PTM IIRC, with an extremely long list of
contributors for this 12-page article:::
J. Clarence Day,
Earl P. Forrest,
Oliver W. Brown, Jr.
ALL of the above of the "Washington (Pa.) Reporter;"
Newton E. Tucker,
Albert R. Dauk,
William A. Keller,
Karl H. Hittle
ALL the above of the Pittsburgh Railways Company - PRCo;
Howard W. Stass,
Keempton F McNutt
These 2-individuals of the Philadelphia Company;
HERMAN F. HEWITT,
Retired PRCo Washington Interurban Operator having
fourty-six (46) years of local and Interurban
service.
""Principal Photo contributors:::::::
Robert H. Brown,
Charles J. Dengler,

Sorry, Generals, I believe this article. It is first and
foremost from PRCo while printed by ERA for our edification.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I tend to flag information I receive.
ORAL revelations are White--flagged --- I hear you, now
where is the substantiating information. Problem with this is
that it takes on a factual bent over time (m-a-n-y years) in the
absense of further substantiation.
WRITTEN, depending on reputation of source(s), may be flagged
as *BEST--EVIDENCE.*
Maybe *BEST--EVIDENCE* is a way of recognizing that this is
the Most- // Only- credible source of information while Also
Recognizing that we live in an Imperfect World and Mistakes
Abound.
*BEST--EVIDENCE* tends to put a positive spin on a negative
subject without obscuring it (the possibility of mistakes,)
without the negativity causing depression, while allowing for
encouragement and further investigation.

Again, Generals,.......
*Electric--Railroads*
#20, July-1952,
'Pittsburgh--Interurbans'
IS *BEST--EVIDENCE* FOR ME ----
ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF THE
EXCELLENT LIST OF CONTRIBUTORS.
