	It prevents the worm from  *using*  your address-book to
perpetuate itself  --  it does not prevent receiving the worm
from others.
	So far as I know, it has worked for me - I receive from others
but don't send.
	It is  *possible*  to write the virus to check the second
address in the address book  --  more work for the hacker, but it
is possible.
