My recollection is that this site:

includes coordinates of a site in that area which was part of the AT&T
long lines system. I can't find it now, but I do find in the list on this
page:

in the "Coast-to-Coast Radio Channel Evaluation Test" section that
there was a station in Troy Hill (next stations east were Salina and then
Johnstown)
