Another major user of slide film is the crime investigation industry.  The
folks in forensics don't like images that can be manipulated.

The reason I want to insure a backup projector is to avoid spending the rest
of my life scanning thousands of slides!  Not only do I have a bunch myself,
but I have PTM's collection to consider, too.  There's simply too much there
to even think of scanning it all...even if it was all high quality.  And
then there's the later issue of data migration...   Fact is, nothing else
beats Kodachrome for longevity.
