Very well said Ed Lyberger. I had never thought of it in quite that way.I do remember the smoggy days from my visits there but never considered the consequences of no mills,no empoyment, etc. And now the steel rails are bought from Japan and the 5 year old rails out here on UPRR have to be replaced  due to excessive wear of the not-very-hardened- steel railhead!!!     rogertrolley
