The round-trip special is a new one on me. Apparently
wouldn't allow much time on the other end -- just quick
drop-off and return!
EMERGENCY is a listing on Transfers // Specials etc. Basic
Description -- ANY disruption in service and the Transfer //
Special is cut EMERGENCY to allow patron to find Any Other
Service Available, regardless or rule restrictions. Next
Operator would lift the Emergency transfer and then issue a
regular valid Transfer // Special etc.
My Mom introduced us kids to the 87-Ardmore and other lines.
She and Dad grew up 1/2-block apart on Race Street in Homewood
and remained there until my 2nd-birthday when we moved to
Dormont.
Mom said half the fun in going any place was to ride the
streetcar! And of course, with Mom showing us the ropes, the
motormen gave us a much better ride -- they (the Male
Motor-people) always tried to dump the ladies on the floor for
sport, or otherwise get their attention -- Love That Sport!!
Made for Super Great Rides!
