To Bob and the Gang:

I had a peculiar affinity to the Aerotrain, perhaps because of its use of GMT
PD4104 bus bodies ... went out and photographed it at different places in the
Lancaster area on many Saturdays. The greatest experience of all happened in
May 1957. The Penny granted permission for me to ride the cab from Harrisburg
to Alto. What a treat for a 17-year-old. They assigned a road foreman of
engines to give up his Saturday, and, in addition found another person in Alto
to drive me around. All the Great Northern motors were outside the shops.

Charlie Shack, who was the Superintendent of Power and Inclines for PRICE, was
sort of a surrogate father. He used to kid me that I would spend all my money
riding the company's trolleys and then he would have to feed me. He took me
into some place in the market on the north side once.
