This loop, in PRCo days and throughout PATransit times was/is know as Munhall
Loop. I operated the bus version of Route 60-EAST LIBERTY-HOMESTEAD in the
1970s on a late night run. It was by that time, Route 64A-E.
LIBERTY-HOMESTEAD but followed the PRCo streetcar routing. Also I made a
3:00AM "Rankin Bridge" trip just as the streetcars had done. There was also
an old supervisors shed (a place where the street supervisor could hold up in
bad weather and still check car/bus times) in the loop beside the rest room
building. It had not been used for years. One night I tried the lock with my
PAT issued 'rest room' key and it opened the door! I found many very good
PRCo items from schedules to temporary destination signs inside the shed to
add to my collection! If it is still there, many more items may be inside
that shed.
