Actually there are still tracks in the cobblestone on the North side, at least when I visted last week.  In fact they are very close to the 16th street bridge which I think is Chestnut street. They only exist for a short block. I found it amazing that the street has not been touched for 40 years but, depressingly, it looks like nothing on that street had been touched for 40 years and i am sure the whole thing will be hit by Mayor Murphy's wrecking ball soon.
