My favorite collection is the HABS/HAER that documents buildings and
engineering records - http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/hhhtml/hhhome.html Search
this one for Castle Shannon.

Other good collections are the Detroit collection
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/detroit/dethome.html and panoramic Photos
http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/pnhtml/pnhome.html.

Some amazing stuff here. I only looked at the Farm Security Administration
file of colored images .. 4x5 Kodachromes. I got through 500 and some of
the 1063. One never really knows what might be found in the FSA files,
such as a Birney car going up
North Queen St. in Lancaster, or stacks of PCC resilient wheels in Carroll
Park Shops in Baltimore. But most of the material represented farms. There
is a lot of great stuff there if you have time to rummage.
