I remember seeing these wooden platforms with ladder for access, at Library Loop and several other places on the lines while there in 1958. The operator of the car I rode out to Library on stated he had indeed installed one of the ice cutters on his car once at one of these places. All you had to do was place the rear of the car next to the platform,exit the car,take the trolley rope out of the catcher and climb the stairs, and swing the pole over to the platform,where the change was made to the collector. Don"t remember if he mentioned a wrench or what to accomplish the change ???    cheers-- rogertrolley
