Yes, colors are subject to aging and interpretation. As we discussed the
PRYS PCC red color before, one could look to the modern San Diego system.
When visiting there in October, I saw one pair of nice deep red articulated
cars coupled to a faded articulated pair. The classic example was a faded
red car with bright red doors and accessory panels! Either the doors were
recessed from the car washer, or they were repainted or new replacements. So
fading does occur, and red is very susceptible to that fading.
