I seem to remember reading that after receiving a "plain" catepillar
repaint, this car either derailed or was struck by another vehicle
somewhere downtown and it smashed into a building. I have seen a photo
showing the damage to the car. The car apparently wound up in a salvage
yard with several other retired PCCs. The owners were supposedly hostile
to railfans and would only be willing to sell entire cars for a ridiculous
price.  The story may have been on this list or in Dave Hamley's account
of Pittsburgh PCC disposition (PTM's "Trolley Fare".)
