	The article by Dave Hamley in *Trolley__Fare* for Jul--Aug--1999
says this, and I quote:::::::

	""".......The next retirement was quite spectacular. Bicentennial
car 1616/1776-II split the switch at Smithfield and 4th Ave. August
12, 1982 and rammed its front end into a book store front, doing
considerable damage to both. It was officially retired August 23,
1982,....... Wrecked car 1616/1776-II and 'gizmo' car
1669/1794-II were sold for scrap to a junkyard in New Eagle, PA and
trucked out intact April 16, 1984....... As of a few years ago the
rear half of 1616/1776-II was still serving as a gas cylinder
storage shed at the junkyard, but now it seems to have
disappeared.......""
