In reality, we CanNot answer this correctly. Unless
someone was actually there that day, we do Not Know what is
going on -- we can Only guess.

Maybe the car is working a foreign line. Maybe the Drake
car Is a Shannon car Inbound that becomes a Drake outbound.
Using Drake Inbound from Castle Shannon loop will work just as
successfully as using 37-Shannon -- even better because the
operator won't forget to change it to Drake downtown.

We know that Drake and Library were interlined on Sundays
-- inbound one line, outbound the other. The motormen
usually changed the sign at the outer loop. So we had Drake
Cars inbound on Library and Library cars inbound on Drake --
still accomplished the same thing!

Other lines did that as well --- make a trip on the
primary line and a foreign trip on another line. Have seen
a 47-line car at SHJ inbound with a 50-Carson destination
sign! Foreign trips are quite common during the rush hour.

And maybe the Drake car had been held up somewhere because of
the Delay on Overbrook or whatever and is going to go from
outbound Drake via 38A to Inbound Drake via Overbrook to get
back on schedule!

And after any delay, cars will be turned short at some point
to resume service in the other direction. This could be the
situation with this (these) cars.

We could also ask why double-end low-floor cars sitting at
Palm Garden displayed *Jefferson--Maiden?* Equipment
normally carried signs only for the barn it was assigned
to! Exceptions were the Brill 37s or St.Louis 38s which
carried all the local signs for Washington but couldn't
negotiate the same because these were single-end cars and
routes called for double-end equipment. Maybe the low-floor
came from Washington for servicing which couldn't be done at
Tylerdale! I have such photos and the same car at Palm
Garden is also in Revenue Service photos in Washington at some
point. Cars were also rotated for servicing so maybe that
car just came from Washington and another was sent down in its
place. Why weren't destination signs swapped out -- Don't
KNow!(:->)

Here in SF we have a 5-Fulton TrolleyCoach work inbound to
downtown, then outbound on the 3-Jackson to Fillmore and
California (only a partial trip OB on the 3-Line) and then
head inbound on the 1-California and back out to the barn!
That is the AM rush!

We are making MoleHills out of Mountains here!(:->)
