Thanks for giving us more info on this tragic accident. There is a picture of the accident in William J.McKelvey's picture book on LVT on page 22. The discrepancy in the number killed was that the company counted passengers and did not count the motorman!! He was obviously killed outright at the accident scene. The second accident to happen,occured at Perkasie Park when #1030 (IRR 55) was rear ended by #1001 after its pole came of the wire,leaving the car in total darkness. The motorman,equiped with just a flashlight ran back to try to stop the following car and did prevent a more serious accident. #1030s rear was pushed in one foot and #1001 front was pushed in to the end of the door at the partition to the pass.compartment. This accident was caused by the fact there was no red lights or marker lights on the rear of any of LVTs passenger cars that should have been illuminated by batterys when the pole was not in contact with the overhead. These were installed promptly to prevent a re-occurance. cheers rogertrolley
