Good Morning!

In looking over Dave Hamley's 6-part series on the PCCs, a
little more information is available for some of the cars below
and is therein listed:::::::

Car-1213 apparently had major front end damage ala 1267 below
from rear-ending another car on the 49-line on or about
1961.09.25 but was excluded from scrapping in the Fall-1963,
speculation being it was involved in legal wrangling as yet.

1235 damaged in collision inside Tunnel Car House in July-1960
and also in the scrapping program but not listed on my other
list.

> 1242 Collision w/M283, 42/39 Jct 1960

Badly damaged front end when it rear-ended M28e July--1960.

> 1267 Collision w/1400, Smithfield St. Bridge 1962.11.26

Major front-end damage after rear-ending 1400 and date listed
above is collision date, not scrapping date which began
1963.09.05.

> 1261 Collision w.1645, Castle Shannon 1963.07.08

	Car-1261 also had a near-head-on with 1264 on 1955.01.23 over
the switches at Lincoln and Frankstown.

Dave notes: ""In one of several head-on collisions on the
single track 38A... (the signals there were notably unreliable,
the human substitutes even less so,)...""

> 1299 " " " " " " " " " "

> 1437 Collision

Hit truck at grade crossing Ardmore Blvd in 1961.

> 1454 Collision

> 1529 Collision w/truck, lower Forbes

> 1608 Collision w.auto, Wilkinsburg

An auto estimated to be travellling 100-mph hit 1608 (inbound
87-line) head-on 1961.12.15.

> 1629 Collision w/1296 Sandusky Robinson 1958.04.23

Date shown is collision date and car was scrapped in program
beginning 1959.07.02. Collision with 1296 which resulted in
the body of 1629 being bent badly sideways in the front and had a
big kink at the center door opening. Car 1296 repaired and
continued service.

> 1645 Collision w/1261, Castle Shannon 1963.07.08

> 1668 Collision inside Tunnel

In collision with 1235 - one of cars lost brakes and hit the
other. Car 1235 scrapped in 1963, 1668 sidelined but never
repaired and eventually scrapped.
