Congratulations

An excellent part of America. I grew up in New York City but moved to
Pittaburgh
in 1950. I was born in 1928, graduated high school in 1945 and NYU in
1949,

I was an air raid warden messenger on Manhattan in World War II, My
experiences
were similar but my zone included the Empire State Bldg and Penn
Station!

When I moved to Pgh I continued in the National Guard until retirement
in 1976.
I had contacts with the Armory in Canonsburg, I took our OCS class out
there to
show them a typical small town Guard unit. This was the 110th
Infantry. I also
used to visit the armory in Media on the Red Arrow street car line.
Small town
units made the Pennsylvania National Guard great.. Did you or any of
your
friends belong to the Guard?

You did not pention Perry Como. Did he have a barbershop background?

I have belonged to the Arden Trolley Museum since the beginning.. Have
yiu
visited?

All in all, a nice story about a nice town. Thank you for sharing.
