I remember riding on an interurban car at a railway museum. After the conductor
noted the smaller section was the "smoking compartment", several visitors proceeded
to light up. The conductor told them not to, explained the car was retired and that
it was a preserved vehicle, not in regular service. One of smokers laughed and
replied, "I suppose you're gonna tell me it no longer travels to Aurora and Elgin,
too."
