That was indeed, "the good ol' days."  
I realize that some of us (me, especially probably) think back often too 
fondly of the those Pittsburgh streetcar days, but they were more 
innocent, and people did converse more, share more, I think.   Customer 
Service wasn't an e-mail or a fax, it was a streetcar operator ringing 
his bell inbound, to let the churchgoers know he'd be around for them on 
their outbound trip.
