Mr. Richard Fellows also had hidden away in his boat yard shops , a #900 class carbody #993 that he also dragged over to his boat yard from the Terminal Island scrap yard where hundreds of Pacific Electric cars met their fate. (remember the famous picture of cars stacked on top of each other) LA Ry cars ended up there too. Nobody knew a 900 class car was saved. It is now at Orange Empire Ry Museum in Perris. This car is listed as scrapped in the PE Roster books !!! Mr. Fellows was a scuba diver hobbyist and was stricken while diving and died as a result. Heart attack was the official reason. His Family auctioned all his trolley artifacts to interested parties, but kept the #1058 until propositioned by the San Pedro people. The car was equipped with a military drive mechanism with eight wheels and could only move at 15mph. It was steered thru the trolley controller in a fashion I was never able to figure out. The regular trolley brake handle stopped it !! I first saw this car at the Blue Line (Long Beach) opening at Del Amo Station. It had all the seats and varnished wood interior you would expect in a 1912 trolley. OERM owns #1001 cheers Rogertrolley
