Actually, Fred, there was a study - or survey would be a better word - done 
some 20 years ago in which many,  - if not a majority  - of those surveyed, 
when told some of the bill of rights amendments, considered them unAmerican, 
or a Communist conspiracy, etc. (another instance where I now wish I had 
kept a copy of the article)

Suspect that history ranks right up there with geography as useless 
information as far as most Americans are concerned.
