Thanks for the info on good places to live,Harold and Ed. Yes I was in the Coast Guard for 4 years around Mass. and Maine. Was on a cutter when the Andria Doria and Stockholm collided off Nantucket.We watched the Andria Doria sink after several hours. Italian Lines would not let us attempt to tow it closer to land north of where it was.200 ft water compared to 400 plus where it was. Tugs dispatched from New York never arrived in time. We had enough ships out there that could have towed it.Later it was determined the ship was built with less than waterways safety goverened by powers that controlled that. In other words, not enought watertight bulkheads to stop water from going over them to prevent sinking in that type of collision. rogertrolley
