I'm not crazy about how the war is being executed. But it sure as heck
>caused Iran, Libya and North Korea to take notice.
here's how I see them taking notice:
Iran: Stepped up their Nuclear program and abandoned the progressive movement started by the students that was beginning to undermine the hard line theocracy. You remember on September 11-12 there were acutally pro USA demonstrations in Iran? Not today, though I don't know why - we eliminated the Taliban and Saddam's regime, two major enemies of Iran. I guess they think we're not gonna stop. Neither do the people at American Enterprise Institute, who none of us has elected but seem to be setting policy.
North Korea: Restarted their Nuclear plant as fast as they could to get a bomb ready. If anything they have started acting even more bizarre than before.
Libya: Continued their tilt towards the west but used a barely started nuclear program as bait to get a ton of "aid" (i.e. payoff) out of the west. [said nuclear program started with help from Pakistan, who apparently are our friends in the war on terror]. Threatend to withhold restitution payment to the Lockerbie (flight 800?) families unless this aid was paid... sounds like an old fashioned shakedown to me, and we're the suckers. Still, I guess its cheaper and less painful than an invasion and occupation.
