In San Francisco they have a fleet of PCCs painted in other schemes. 
I suppose the likelihood of Port Authority painting the LRVs in a 
PRC-derived scheme, and buses in schemes from the various companies which 
ran buses before. Sure, you might end up with a Brentwood coach on a 
Lincoln route, but it'd be amusing nonetheless.

For a city whose route system is a nod to history, why would having buses 
painted similarly be a problem?
