1705.

I was on the crew that retrieved the crate from Johnstown, along with a
bunch of other parts. JTC charged us 6¢ a pound in those days!

reply to Boris and dementia,irg

There must have been some interesting transactions.

In the 1970's PAT acquired a complete front end assembly still
in crate from Arden who had acquired it from Johnstown. We
installed this on a damaged 1700. That car was then
repainted and back in service. Does Arden know the car #?

>There was a speculation on another trolley list that PRCo had acquired some
used PCC parts from Johnstown. Truck parts and electrical gear could be
useful for Pittsburgh, but they went to Belgium. Among the useful artifacts
could be some door parts, lights and possibly also some smaller body parts.
Some of the parts would be possibly useful also for 1600, but that was gone
when JTC abandoned its streetcar system.
