Dennis Linsky often quotes *This--Day--In--History* from
various transit publications of yore.
While looking for information on ({[pat]}) ((we did
have a more detailed discussion where more facts were
quoted from *Headlights* and the like but have not as
yet found them) -- I stumbled on this piece which
looks quite interesting!

Dear Trolley Folks:
PITTSBURGH AWAITS LATEST PCC CAR ORDER
Pittsburgh Railways expected that its new
interurban PCC cars, built by St. Louis Car Company
under Job 1669, would arrive by Wednesday,
September 1, 1948. They will go to the Chaleroi
line first, and some may replace the streamliners already
serving the Washington line. It was believed that the
new cars will be air-conditioned and will have bucket
seats and 2-way FM radio, thus depriving Philadelphia
Suburban (Red Arrow) of its "first."
Track work was progressing on both interurban lines.
PRC plans to double-track the whole line from Castle Shannon
to Washington Junction (except bridges and trestles) so
as to allow faster schedules.
Very Sincerely.

Don't know the source for this but assume the
'double track[ing] from Castle Shannon to Washington-Jct'
is actually CS to SHJ. Interesting.
The original did include complaints of other
transit properties in Keystone state but I cut those.
Jim
