 Good Evening, Everyone:

It was 45 years ago February-22 when Pittsburgh Railways
made some routing changes on the North Side.     Route 13-Emsworth became
6/13-Brighton-Emsworth during evenings, Sundays, and holidays.     Route
15-Bellevue continued to serve California Avenue but route 19-Western
Avenue was extended from Manchester Station to Woods Run loop during
evenings, Sundays, and holidays and was now known as route 19-Western-Woods
Run.     Route 18-Woods Run remained the same.

In night service, route 6/15-Brighton-Bellevue was
discontinued along with route 14-Avalon.     Instead, route 15-Bellevue
became a 24-hour route and route 6/14-Brighton-Avalon became the night
route.     Route 6/19-Brighton-Western still operated as before.

Pittsburgh Railways wanted to sell Ingram Station upon
abandonment.     If so, buses for the West End lines would operate from
Island Park garage and Manchester Station on the North Side.     This could
push streetcars from Manchester to Keating Station.     PRCo. has received
permission to discontinue route 94-Aspinwall.     They also wished to shift
route 22-Crosstown from Manchester to Craft Avenue and route 82-Lincoln
from Homewood to Craft Avenue.

PRCo. has ordered 29 new GMC 45-passenger diesel buses which
were said to be the current model.     GM's salesman said they were to be
the new picture-window V-6's.     Also, they were instituting the Babbitt
Soap coupon system, 4 coupons for one fare, 5 on express buses.

From HEADWAY RECORDER, March, 1959, pages 1 and 16.

            Very Sincerely,
