possible 7 best (no order) These were the leaders
Penn Transit, Community Transit, Deere Brothers, Brentwood, Oriole, Bigi
and Noble Dick-Mon Valley

When Harmony was running, it was # 2 or 3 (prior to March 1961)

Also add Shafer and Ohio River who were good in their areas.

And DeBolt was good but they had trucks and the Somerset Bus Co.
They still have that charter bus certificate and garage in Hoimestead

Trafford Motor Coach opted to stay in the school bus business (MARC lines)

Thetre were a lot of lines in the middle that minded their own business
like Culmerville, Horell, McKeesport Transit, McCoy-Wm Penn

Harold Norris of Culmerville went on to be a top manager for PAT. He was
low key with high standards. He replaced me first as Tarentum Manager and
then as Planning Director. His son is a lawyer with Pat's atty..Eckert,
etc.
Both good people.

OtherPAT top managers from the independednts George Nebesnic (Noble
Dick). Will Barnes from Shafer,
Roy Behling from Shafer, Otto Behling from Oriole. Wilson and Bob Feick
from Brentwood.
? from Penn Transit. Grant McCoy from McCoy brothers (he went on to
Penn DOT.)

The worst...Try Austin, Bamford, Burelli, Rogers (Aspinwall), New
Kensington. Ferguson

While his company was poor, Ralph Burelli did become a PAT dispatcher and
served for years.

The really worst..Pgh Motor Coach

In a class by itself..Carnegie Coach. This one man, one bus was
operated by a
good personal friend, Leonard Bruno, who became a top seniority driver
at Collier
Leonards wife was a nurse for Dr Hess in Carnegie who did physicals for my
National Guard unit.. Carnegie was a former Montour line.. Leonard
even delivered
the groceries to the door!
