Greetings to all
LETS GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE
A recent issue of the Army Times weekly newspaper carried
a feature story on Army History about recruiting.
The article carried a photo of a Pgh Rys PCC car in 1947
advertising joing the WACS. The Times credited "army photo"
PRC may have had more public service & patriotic cars then most
other systems. Many places had War Bond cars, etc but few
had the multiyear campaigns on the 22 Crosstown.
Charles Dengler photographed them all.
To Ed Lybarger
A question? What was the car # of the 1947 WAC car? Does
Arden have a list? Cant read the # on the photo.
Looks like a 1400 or 1500 series car.
Where are Dengler's photos now? At the museum?
How about a display at the museum?
But we can leave out the late 1970's army car. Its not something
to be proud of.
My favorite commercial advertising car was the Mohawk Airlines car.
Mohawk had an interesting campaign. Fly their system Saturday, comeback
Sunday before 1PM. All flights via Syracuse. The fare? $25! I did this
twice.
