M-WP is fun, too! It's a time warp.

Subject: [PRCo] Re: TRACING TROLLEY R_O_W
I drove the line from Greensburg to Connellsville and passed Hecla Jct but
beyond there(Hecla Jct) got turned around by the PA Turnpike crossing and
sidetracked by hunting for the crossing of the pike. That Hecla Jct school
sure looks bad with many windows broken !! It does seem to be
abandoned.Somebody on this list said to take pix of it before it diappears
and they were right. Too Bad. Trip over to Latrobe was somewhat fruitful
seeing R-O-W and bridge abutments but the maps dont tell you what street the
cars ran on into town to the carhouse !! At least I could not find it as
light was fading by this time and went back to the motel in Stanton,
intending to try the next day, but instead went to Connellsville directly to
snoop around that area. McClelland was interesting but the old high school
is gone and seems like a new one was being put up.R-O-W down to there from
Brownsville Jct was easy to see with high tension poles all the way. Coming
in from the south from Martin I m!
issed the Masontown street the line ran on by mistake but intend to return
that way. Came by way of Clarksburg and saw the magnificent terminal bldg
thats there. Several years ago Henry Elsner built an O scale model of that
place, which I saw at the East Penn meet in Phila. It was well done.
Monongahela-West Penn is another gold mine for R-O-W people like me. SOME
DAY cheers rogertrolley
