Probably a local guy pronounced it that way and it stuck.  He might have
been an "expert" in his own time, not unlike some who write local histories
today!

I know this is not a trolley term, but does anyone have any idea how the
term doodlebug turned into hoodlebug?  The name was used in Armstrong &
Indiana Counties as far as I know.  Anyone else ever hear the word?
