We still made change in Chicago during summer of 1969. But there was also a
large police presence in Chicago, which really wasn't realized until I
returned to Pittsburgh.
It was either summer of 1968 or 1969 that a temporary bus driver was killed
on 12 Roosevelt run during robbery gone bad. Driver was foreign student, so
may have had translation problem, and robbers got too excited. Otherwise it
was a good summer job.
