Derrick and all
The Bergunder in McKees Rocks which closed was not related
to the one in Bridgeville. Same family but separate
My former motor sgt in the Guard lives down the street.
He is in PAT bus maintenance,
Montour's timetables never said McKees Rocks, only ROX.
We served West Park beyond the street car enroute to
Moon Run or Kenmawr
I met the older Bergunder in the Rox at the McKees Rocks
Rotary club. I was first a member of the Tarentum-Brackenridge
Rotary and then the Pgh Rotary Club. I made up meetings at
many of the regional clubs. It was a good way to make
contacts for PAT.
Rotary is a good thing.. Hq in Evanston. Its world wide.
I have made up in Germnay, France, Finland, England.
Had an interesting experience in Finland. Every one spoke
English (same in Germany). The speaker was a Finish
Army General who spoke about world war II. When he
realized an American was there, he delivered his entire talk
in English. I appreciated that. Finns are nice people..
He made an interesting point. Of the various nations in
World War II, the capitols of only 3 were never occupied.
London, Moscow, and Hersinki
I spent 4 days with the Hersinki tram and subway people.
They had just received their new lrv.s in the early 1970's.
The Helsinki manager was in Rotary. It was a Helsinki
photo that inspired Phil Castelano to design and build PAT's
LRV PCC.
