Records are sketchy about some of this...nonexistent, maybe. Simmons Loop
opened at 8:48 a.m. on Monday morning (car 1721, remember?). Previous trips
had to turn, and they must have done so at (West) Library. It was really
only a Sunday that there was no service to the new end of line.
The Washington loop commenced June 21st, as far as I know. I've found
nothing in writing, but they closed the car house and the Shaffer Avenue
office/waiting room simultaneously, and there was no one left to oversee
backing the cars out onto Beau Street.

Ok, Ed -- this begs some questions as well!!!!!!! :-D
There is a one or two day gap between end of Charleroi and opening of
Simmons -- what happened in between -- West Library?
Also, at the end of local service in Washington I understand the
Interurban Wye was closed and the Interurbans looped on city
streets. Any specific dates for this operation?
Very fast for opening of Drake loop -- less than one month after
abandonment!
