Drake Wye was installed some time before the abandonment. I have a photo of
a car with a paper sign for it taken May 10, 1953 in the Tunnel yards, and
the June 21, 1953 timetable has a separate listing of Canonsburg and Drake
trips. I have no TTs between 9-51 and 6-53 here at home, so don't know
exactly when it came online.
I probably won't get this looked at for a few days now...we are disappearing
into the near midwest beginning tomorrow morning; back Sunday night.

I hate to make you go back to researching, Ed, but I would like to
know when the West Library Loop was installed. I noticed that Simmons
Loop opened a couple days after Charleroi abandoned. I guess cars
turned at West Library for that day and a half or so.
Also, almost a whole month passed after Washington abandonment and
the opening of Drake Loop. I guess this would be the time period
when Drake Wye was used. My question(s) is/are this: When was Drake
Wye installed and was it used in tripper service while Washington
was still running? Thanks for the research! I'll keep these dates
on file.
