Probably very rusty. Pittsburgh 1138 was fairly decent except for the step
wells because cinders were used for traction in snow throughout most of its
lifetime. The 1500s, 1600s and 1700s were incredibly rusty underneath
because, for much of their lives, salt was used to melt snow on streets. I
had been running 1711 at Arden for a long while. I didn't know how bad it was
until we rebuilt it. Then I was surprised that no one fell through the floor
or a step.
