Because some Pgh. equipment is at Trolleyville, thought I would forward
this information I received:::::::

Plans to relocate Trolleyville U.S.A. to downtown Cleveland are
progressing. Over the last few months, a planning group was established;
a survey of potential sites for the museum, carbarn and operating line
has been conducted. Enthusiastic support from a number of area
politicians and political bodies has also been obtained. Politicians
backing the efforts include Mayor Jane Campbell and Congressman Steven
LaTourette. Along with the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and
Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority are behind the project.

The plan consists of three components:

1. An interpretive museum including a display building for 10-15 cars
from the collection.

2. A working trolley line to be implemented in phases on city streets.
It would eventually serve as a downtown circulator loop. It would be
used to promote tourism and economic development. The first phase of
this line would link the existing museums on the lakefront with the
planned residential development along with new restaurants and shops.

3. A carbarn to store approximately 40 cars not currently in use. Also
included is a separate state-of-the-art service and restoration
facility. It would have access to the trolley line and RTA's Waterfront
Line.

Sites under consideration for the various facilities include a 45,000
square foot carbarn and rail yard inside the loop bridge on RTA's
Waterfront line (this is the bridge that crosses the CSX main line).
Also being considered is the eastern end of the Waterfront line.

Several potential museum sites around East 9th Street and Dock 32 are
under consideration as well as sites in the vicinity of the Canal Basin
Park that is soon to be developed.

The next steps in the planning process include the hiring of an
engineering firm for site review to see that they meet Trolleyville's
needs and the hiring of a professional fundraiser.

The above was taken from a progress report published by Trolleyville U.S.A.
