Well, it's often moot in Pittsburgh, since a lot of bus zones usually
have cars parked in them; see, for example, Murray Avenue. Of course,
solving that might require the cops to stop yelling at photographers
and start doing their jobs.
Speaking of which, some of the stop positioning on Murray seems
radically more negligent than anything a bus driver could do. I'm
thinking particularly of the inbound 61C/64A/59U stop past Murray &
Bartlett, in front of the 61C Cafe; if an articulated 61C pulls up
with the front door next to the "Bus Stop" sign, well, cross traffic
on Bartlett gets to stare at the side of the bus blocking the
intersection... I think, with a 40' bus, you "only" block the
crosswalk, but somehow I suspect that's just as illegal.
So to bring this back to PRCo: was there a trolley stop at Murray
& Bartlett, and was it always in that unfortunate position?
