I-79 is on the hillside above. The (local) road has been raised in this
location about 10 feet as part of a flood control project. But I can show
you pretty exactly where the crossing was.

A bunch of the wood in 4398's roof may well remain, as will many of the
castings. Cast iron was not really a structural thing...steel was, and
that's what's being replaced. There's just a lot of steel!

The really depressing part of the Fare was the insert with the picture of
the first three PTM cars being driven to the museum. All three looked good,
but now 832 is in pieces and no plans to put it back together, M1 is just
shot, forever it seems, and 4398 is finally on its way but will be mostly a
replica - the only original pieces left will be the cast iron parts. But
since I wasn't there in the beginning to help preserve these cars I am not
going to blame anybody for the deterioration. I mean, its hard enough for
me to keep my patio and arbor in good shape, let alone 3 streetcars.

4398 was not one of the cars in the photo. That was 3756. Speaking
of that photo taken at Morganza, Ed, is this part of the old line that
I-79 now runs through?
